I’m 31 and my hairline looks exactly like the one portrayed here. You seem to imply in the responses to the comments below that donor areas can’t be used over and over to provide hair for the rest of the head. Won’t hair just regrow after being pulled out?

  2. samlammd Says:

the hair is not pulled out. it is removed from the back and moved to the front. once it has been moved to the front, it is no longer in the back, which means after 5 to 7 times typically, you are out of donor hair. that may sound like you have a lot of times but i need to gauge how much loss you have and how best i can ensure that we do not run out of donor hair in the future. however, at 31, you will definitely need more sessions in the future due to further hair loss.

Hello Sam, I’am 25 years old and also going bald, it seems to get noticeably worse every few 3 to 4 months. What would you recommend doing? Also does using Rogaine and/or Propecia work? If I were to use it would I use it to the point where I’m comfortable with the hair growth or is it something I would have to take for the rest of my life or so?Please help. Thank you.

  4. samlammd Says:

at 25 with rapidly progressive loss, you should be on rogaine and propecia. they not only both work. they work better in young men starting to lose hair. however, you are correct you need to be on them for the rest of your life or you will have lost what you gained during the time you were on them.

Wow how much does this cost. I’m 23, and need like 1/64th the amount of hair restoration the guy in the video needs.

  6. samlammd Says:

at 23 i would be very careful to do it because you might run out of donor hair to cover the transplant result. this is hard to explain but i would be very careful to do a transplant at your age.

could you give me a rough estimate, its no that much hair gone, and I want it just moderately dense

  8. ejiroy Says:

I’m 21, and have been losing my hair for about 4 or 5 years now. I got the “V” or “M” look in the front of my head. Would the procedure look good on a african american, and how much is it per graft?

  9. samlammd Says:

if you are as young as you are and a male, it is not advisable in many cases to do a hair transplant because over time with further hair loss you may run out of hair to cover the area that was transplanted. hope that makes sense.

  10. samlammd Says:

that question depends on so many factors: how dense is your donor hair, how much hair loss you have and how much more would i expect, can you afford more sessions (which you will need given your young age), is your crown opening to the point that i really will have a bald patch left then i would recommend shaving. it is complicated and requires an inperson consultation for making the best decisions.best,dr. sam lam
